Ideation
About 1/15 of the sketchwork that led into the final concepts
Deep research into ergonomics, existing products + existing mechanisms + styles were conducted to develop a wide variety of ideation sketchwork.

Finalising Concept Sketchwork
By now, I'd chosen the form, and was a matter of bringing it up in solidworks to see what works and what needs improving.
3D Modelling
A range of 3D models created within solidworks. They all utilise a simple leverage-style mechanism.

Prototyping
Earliest prototypes printed in PLA+ on a 3D printer. These helped with initial ideation and rapid prototyping, being able to see what works and doesn't work.
Initially, a torsion spring-style mechanism was to be used. But, thanks to rapid prototyping, I was quick to note the torsion springs available for my model could not accomodate the size I needed it to be.
More Prototyping
Rapidly prototyping some more quick concepts in a tong-style utilising simple spring and PLA. Here, I could test what feels the most comfortable to use and to press down upon.
Pre-Finalised Model

Quick glance at the final model, laser cut in cardboard. The NET was made on autocad and was created to give a feel of sizing and dimensions and what other minor adjustments could be made.
Proof of Concept

Showcasing the working model prior to the client presentation.
This has been cut from laser-ply for the sheer accuracy of the prototyping method.
